Navigation Courses in Snowdonia

Mountain navigation courses in Snowdonia, North Wales.

To learn the skills to travel in the mountains under your own steam is to enter a world that will enliven all of your senses, and remain with you for the rest of your life.

The mountains of the UK can be stunningly beautiful but they can also be harsh and inhospitable, often on the same day. If you want to be able to enjoy them in all of their different moods it pays to have a few navigation skills in place and our courses will provide them.

We provide a range of courses from 1 day to 5 days to teach you how to use a map and compass and become a proficient map reader in the mountain environment. You should leave our courses feeling happy with using a map and compass to navigate in the mountains under your own steam. I am a qualified Mountaineering Instructor and International Mountain Leader and therefore hold the highest level of qualification in the UK for teaching navigation courses. I also train Mountain Leaders and Walking Group Leaders and will happily help you to progress your own skills if you would like to pursue a change of career. (Mountain Leaders are qualified to lead groups in a Mountain environment but have no instructional training or assessment)

We run all of our courses in the mountains of Snowdonia in North Wales which provide a host of terrain that is ideal for learning to navigate. We also run a range of rock climbing and scrambling courses in Snowdonia if you want to progress further.
